  Recruitment Opportunities

With Kil'jaeden down, it's finally time for some good old R&R as we bide our time for Wrath of the Lich King to be released. However, with the lull in gameplay, some people will inevitably decide to stop playing the game. As such we are opening up recruitment for all classes and specs in order to keep our raiding roster healthy and continue to improve upon it as we farm the current content until the expansion. What does this mean for you? With all the current content down, the restrictions on recruitment from a gear standpoint have been significantly lowered as we search for skilled players to bolster our roster. The expansion is an excellent time to reroll, start off fresh, and once again get into a high end raiding guild. If you think you have what it takes to be in a high end raid guild but were just never able to get in based on your prior gear and experience, now is the time to act!

Emphasis on recruitment updated July 31st: (but all classes are encouraged to apply)

- Hunter
- Resto Druid
- Resto Shaman
- Feral Druid
- Protection Warrior

If you're interested in applying to the guild, please register first and fill out an application found here.

The more thorough your application, the more likely you are to be considered. Especially if you have very little gear/experience to go off. If you're a dedicated player, and can prove to us that you'll be both reliable and skilled in the upcoming months, we're interested in hearing from you. Alliance players who want to re-roll may also apply.

  The Deceiver Vanquished

And so another chapter comes to a close in the long history of Ascent. Kil'jaeden was defeated today after a long and arduous week that included a heart-breaking 1% wipe. The guild as it is today is much different than the Ascent of old, but the attitude, determination, and companionship remain the same. The Sunwell turned out to be much more than I thought it would be in terms of difficulty when it was first released. In fact, most of the encounters were tuned so tightly that one person going offline would almost certainly result in a wipe. Eredar Twins, M'uru, and Kil'jaeden were especially frustrating thanks to massive amounts of crit errors and link-deads mid attempt. The encounters were hard enough to begin with having a full raid of 25, let alone trying to complete them with anything less.

A huge thanks goes out to all of those that stuck it out through Sunwell through all of the ridiculous wipes, all the b****ing, the quitters, and those that thought we never stood a chance. PvE server handicap all the way, but we refused to quit and came out on top.

Congratulations to Zeavor on Thalassian Ranger Gauntlets, Beatricx on Cloak of Unforgivable Sin, Unspokenfor on Crux of the Apocalypse, and yours truly on Sunflare.

See you in Wrath of the Lich King.

  M'uru dead...

...Finally. Should have been dead a couple weeks ago, but unfortunately there isn't much you can do when Blizzard decides to release a boss when three-quarters of your guild has finals on the horizon. Throw that into the mix with crit errors, disconnects, instant raid-wipes on behalf of our good friends the Dark Fiends, and the ever present recruitment monster, and you end up a few weeks down the road. All that aside though, I have to give Blizzard props once again for tuning their encounters in Sunwell. One person offline for any prolonged period of time and you're pretty much guaranteed a wipe (I can assure you that 5% phase 2 wipe with a warlock offline for the duration of phase 2 was quite enjoyable). Ironically enough though, I hope Kil'jaden is tuned the exact same way.

Grats to Glayde on Bladed Chaos Tunic, Fourwalls on Garments of Serene Shores, Nodozz on Shadowed Gauntlets of Paroxysm, and Fayes on Sin'dorei Band of Dominance.

  Eredar Twins down

Three Resto shaman; one of them offspec... 'nuff said. The healing requirement for this fight is nothing short of insane. The strategies are many, as are the attempts, and the killshot was priceless. Nerd screams for the win, am I right? In all seriousness though, above all else, this encounter takes your healers to the edge, and if you're not flawless on that one attempt where everything falls into place, you're going to wipe. If you thought Felmyst was a healing intensive encounter, wait till you've seen this.

Grats to Dahakas on Golden Bow of Quel'thalas, Glayde on Mantle of the Golden Forest, Ghist on Amice of the Convoker, and Fourwalls on Sin'dorei Pendant of Conquest.

Recruiting update (May, 25): We are still looking for the following classes.

Ret Paladin - High (This will be a full time position)
Holy/Shadow Priest - Medium

Holy Paladin - High
Feral Druid - Medium

  Felmyst evaporated

Well, it took more than a day for this one, but Felmyst finally went down. I don't think I've ever fought against a more tightly tuned mob in all of my time playing this game. The 10 minute enrage timer is really deceiving after killing Brutallus, but I'd honestly say Felmyst's 7 million hitpoints were harder to take down in 10 minutes, than Brutallus' 10 million in 6.

Grats Aldaric on 8/8 T6, Thurstie on the Vanquisher boots, Samadi on the Conqueror boots, and Ugen on Leggings of the Immortal Beast.

Now to wait for the twins.

Recruitment update 04-09:
We're currently looking to add the following classes to our roster-

-Hunter - High
-Resto Shaman - High
-Holy Priest - Medium
-Prot Warrior - Low

If you're interested, please read the post found here and fill out an application to the left.
